ZeroFox Adds Reality Defender’s Deepfake Detection for External Threat Protection

Ben Colman

Co-Founder and CEO

External threat teams have spent the last 18 months learning to navigate the many new harms brought on by generative AI. When an impersonation campaign surfaces with a purported video of a CEO or an executive's cloned voice speaking off-brand to the masses, the question is no longer what this campaign aims to achieve. Instead, the question becomes one of whether the media in question is real and how quickly it can be taken down.

ZeroFox, the platform for external threat intelligence and digital risk protection, has integrated Reality Defender into its Discover, Validate, Disrupt workflow. The integration adds a media-authenticity verdict for AI-generated voice, video, and images directly within the ZeroFox platform, where analysts already work. The verdict feeds into the takedown motion ZeroFox is known for, and shortens the path from campaign discovery to disruption.

What Our Partnership Delivers

The integration of Reality Defender into ZeroFox brings multimodal AI-generated media detection into ZeroFox's external threat platform. ZeroFox processes more than 12 billion signals each day across 180 platforms, more than 6 billion domains, and 21,000 dark web forums. It executes more than 1 million takedowns each year. This scale means deepfake detection arrives as a native step inside a workflow security teams already use, not as a standalone tool they have to procure and deploy.

Reality Defender's API-first platform delivers this detection capability through a single endpoint across audio, video, and image data. Our platform is built to operate in real-time production environments without requiring a human in the loop. Such abilities make it possible to operate at ZeroFox's scale while embedding detection directly into existing workflows, eliminating the need for additional tools when focus and time matter most.

ZeroFox is Extending the Discover, Validate, Disrupt Framework

ZeroFox is among the first external threat platforms to make AI-generated media detection a native part of its enterprise portfolio. The decision reflects a broader strategy to extend the Discover, Validate, Disrupt framework with the evidence that security teams now request as impersonation campaigns continue to use synthetic voices, videos, and images regularly.

The platform's discovery and disruption capabilities answer analysts' two more pressing questions: where the campaign is operating and how to remove it. The Reality Defender integration answers the third question: whether the media inside the campaign is AI-generated. Together, these capabilities give external threat and brand protection teams a single workflow that moves from suspicious activity to confirmed synthetic media to a removed campaign, all on the same platform.

Reality Defender Sees What Others Miss

Reality Defender solely focuses on best-in-class synthetic media detection across voice, video, and image. Our industry-leading detection models generate a detection signal usable in industry-trusted tools that handle many other indicators and data points. Inside the ZeroFox platform, that signal becomes the much-needed verdict discovery and takedown teams have been asking for.

By integrating Reality Defender's industry-leading deepfake detection into ZeroFox's platform, detection now reaches the people who need it most to monitor, investigate, and disrupt threats. ZeroFox's decision to layer detection into the Discover, Validate, Disrupt framework sets the standard for how external threat platforms can build trust.
